My Photos in Flickr.
Almost as invasive as the japanese knott weed :-(
A very old Shropshire Lad.
I managed to get rid of a lot of it in the last garden by pulling it up before it went to seed.
Watching the seeds explode caused the kids great hilarity but dread in me!! They do have beautiful flowers but are very greedy + over run lots of other plants.

Excuse wobbily dyslexic spelling!
We took some seed from some plants by the river and sprinkled them on the area we allow to grow wild and they come up well last year, the bees loved them but this year they have not grown so the bees are settling for the Hebe.
Thanks Shane for the id,there were a lot of these down by our local river they looked nice in large groups! :0)
I think it's from the bizzy lizzie family of plants? As stated above very invasive and I found it to be a real pain in my last garden which was quite small. I haven't grown it in my current garden. If it likes it's situation (damp riverside type of habitat) then you'll never get rid of it from my experience....
Hi Littleowl. I can confirm that this plant is very invasive, and where I work as a volunteer, Brockholes Wetland Centre, we spend a lkot of time pulling it up, but it just keeps coming up again the following year.
There are 9000 species of bird on earth. Let's keep it that way.
Thanks Higgy and Budgie,I am glad they are down by the river and not In my garden ! :0)
