Hello All,
This little chap has sprouted up under my bird feeder. It's definately come from the bird seed and I would like to try and grow it in my wild-flower meadow next year if it's suitable?...
It almost looks like a mini poppy but the foliage is wrong for this I think, the flower only measures about 10-20mm across.....
Thanks in advance
Hi Higgy
Have a wee look at Linum Grandiflorum 'Rubrum'. Think that might be it.
Meant to add what a lovely looking plant amongst the barley. Would happily have a few of those in the garden!!

Excuse wobbily dyslexic spelling!
What a beautiful colour. I know it as Scarlet Flax. Lovely little flower

Hi Osprey,
Thanks for that I think you could be right. It's a lovely bright flower and something that I will try and grow again next year. I will also sprinkle some seed in the wild-flower meadow in the hope it might eventually grow and self seed....
A bit more info here if anyone's interested...
Sorry silly system won't let me add a link??????
