I washed off & repainted the garden chairs...
I bought a sunvisor, pair of sunglasses & a pair of shorts...
I defrosted the freezer & filled it with ice-cream...
I had an outside tap fitted for watering purposes...
I invested in a small barbeque...
I got a bigger second birdbath...
I purchased a few drought tolerant plants...
I put water retaining jobbies in all the pots & baskets...
I resurrected both water butts onto their plinths...
and it worked....
It has rained solidly for the last 2 hours + thunder & lightning to boot. Big fat wet splodges of lovely water.
That's my shopping list sorted for the weekend then. LOL
Badly need rain here in the big smoke

Thank you Bella, it worked brilliantly and the sound and light show was seriously impressive although next time do you think you could make it slightly less monsoon like.

"I put water retaining jobbies in all the pots & baskets..."
Had to laugh at your above comment, as We Scots refer to Jobbies as something quite different!!!! as I am quite sure that what you put in your baskets is NOT what springs to my mind
I am now choking with laughter,
We had rain here today too, good for the garden

See where you're coming from Borderlass and Osprey! I am also enviuous of the chilled wine. I am making do with a cuppa.
Thats funny Bella I was just reading your post thinking I wish it would rain here (Cheshire) it has been humid all evening, and it has just started to bucket down and it's thundering now as well, hope it rains for a bit the garden could do with it and the farmers will be happy
Regards
Linda

Still no rain here. Good luck to your son Littleowl. I grew up on Exmoor so know how it can be on a damp foggy day so hope we have heavy rain all night tonight then some dryer weather for him.
