when to plant

hi i am thinking of planting a small fruit tree of some sort and also forsythia (think thats how you spell it!) but as i am no gardener by any stretch of the imagination can any one advise when i should start to think about this please ( the fruit tree or bush is to attract more birds any ideas) thanks in advance

  • Hi Nanny

Nice idea to plant these for the birds,

The fruit trees have to be planted out in september, october time, as they are now in blossom

it's the wrong time of year, you may be able to find some in pots in the garden centres  now, then you can plant

them out later, same with the fosythia, the garden centres will have them in stock when it's time to plant

    them out.
