Thought I'd let you know I tried out the home-made weedkiller in the dandilions thread and it seems to be working a treat! Tested it on the path at the bottom of the garden and it is certainly having an impact on the weeds there, just to try it on the patio now!
(for anyone who is wondering what the weedkiller is, it is vinegar, salt and a bit of washing-up liquid! OH bought loads of salt and vinegar from Lidl - cheap and so far looking pretty effective!)

Wow, How funny my next door neighbour was just telling me a couple of hours ago that they are using this mix on their weeds. I have to say I was a little sceptical but now I find this thread!!....
Any one know if it will work on Horse Tail weed which is the bane of my life at the moment and almost impossible to eradicate? if it does that would be great as I won't use chemicals in the garden so am always on the lookout for something natural.
What's the ratio of ingredients?
I don't know what the ratio is but we used 1 litre of vinegar, 1kg of salt (I think) a dash of washing up liquid and added boiling water for good measure. Don't know if it will work on horse tails but it has taken out the dandilions with one application, though the grass hasn't really be affected much.

I will monitor my neighbours Horse tail and see how he gets on but most certainly worth having for some weeds by the sound of it.

Think she will appreciate that Kat as a bit of a blow up about Good Eggs at the time she received hers made her wonder if it was criticism of her award,of course we all knew it wasn't but a bit upsetting for her I think.
