Ground coffee for houseplants?????

Good Afternoon

My partner Pete has been told  that instead of pouring the used coffee granules from our machine down the sink that we should put them on our house plants ????

I have heard of tea but not coffee

Has anyone else heard of this ????

thanks in advance

  • Hi kimbo

Yes I have heard of this. I know that you can put coffee grounds in a compost heap, as they are useful for making compost, but their use for houseplants is mentioned Here

    Best wishes Chris

  • Hiya Kimbo

Chris has provided a good link, many people swear by it.

On the flipside, putting them down the sink will at some point cause an issue with your plumbing.

(Think about it, you have to throw them as they dont desolve)

It's both what you do and the way that you do it!

  • Thankyou woodpecker thats a great link

I actually do put them in the bin don't know what made me say that ...maybe its the high dosage pain medication I'm on as a few of you already know I already have a problem with my plumbing unfortunately its not in the sink...lol

    thanks again
