The parsnips and peas didn't seem to be doing anything (and I think the peas are no longer in the tub anyway) so I got bored of waiting and have planted some more kale in their containers lol And as I had some spare compost from planting up my buddleia into their pots to grow them on a bit, I did another three containers of carrots! I like my kale and carrots yum yum I now have three or four varieties of carrots (though I don't know which is in which container - bad me must remember to label!) and three varieties of kale! Should keep me going, not that I've ever had much luck with the carrots but I can hope!

Hi Kat,
No bad feelings I hope over the cat thing.
I have found kale (I love it) and other brassicas difficult to grow on a small scale without protection from the cabbage white butterfly. There is only so much you can do from hand picking the caterpillars.
Much as I have tried, I can't successfully grow peppers (under glass) - whether it is over watering or underwatering - I'm not sure. The fruits form and then don't mature.
If you have some suggestions -I'm open to advice.
Kind Regards
Claire

Hi Claire,
Haha no, no bad feelings (I'd forgot about it actually!) With that I think we will just have to agree to disagree!
With my larger tubs I'm going to rig up a net to protect them from the butterflies, hopefully it will work. The smaller tubs will be left though, see if my little robin friend will give me a hand with the caterpillar control!
Never tried to grow peppers before, so don't have a clue what I'm doing with them so can't offer any suggestions there lol
