Especially for Sooty - how about this?

Here you go then Sooty, another mystery plant!

The lives on this are really big!

    Oh Chris surely not Tulips,interested if anyone knows,Kat just having abit of fun with me.  

  • Looks like Canna leaves but way too early so can't be.....what about those giant Lilly of the Valley?.......or are they really Tulip leaves??.....

    Giant lilly of the valley?  Never even heard of them!  The big leaf looks too big to be a tulips, got some in the garden and they are no where near that size.

    How about autumn flowering crocus, they often have large bright green leaves in the spring.

    Well I cant now because its not what I thought it was (tulips).

    I will have another go when there is a flower to accompany the leaves you have discovered :-)

    As this is now open to everyone may I suggest  (probably wrong) as i can't smell it Wild Garlic  I know the leaves on this can be quite large (great in salad)

    That might be a very good shout Kimbo,we have a really large area of wild garlic down a green lane about a 100 metres from us so will investigate tomorrow.

    Just scanned one of my photographs onto the laptop. I can close my eyes and smell them on that warm afternoon.

    Also known as scallions if you do have wild garlic just brush it with your hand to confirm :-)
