I thought I would open this thread for people to use for plant ID's
As i am in an unfamilar garden which is blooming here and there now, and I would like to know the plant species as they are now.
Love t know some of my bushes to the left in my back garden
Lots of this growing down my left border
One large bush growing behind my plastic bird Bath
Lots of this growing behind the bird table
Should know this but need a reminder! Wild Flower?
This is in my front garden in my rockery - no idea?
This might a self seeded one form somewhere esle

Since the weather is supposed to be quite good for a few days. I will be doing a little gardening on Sunday and prune Budellia hard back, and whatever else needs done and the garden tidied up.
The Spirea will get pruned as you have suggested. Does it need to be a severe pruning back to the ground? ...or more lightweight than that

If your Spirea has been pruned hard back in the past, then do it again, if its not, then a moderate prune will do. :-)

Sadly, there is no way I will ever know in this case - unless there is a way of telling old wood and new wood or similar. It does look although the bush has been looked after by the landlord or whatever
I think a moderate pruning will be sensible in this case

On the subject of pruning, can anyone tell me please, when I should prune my young [2nd year] syringa? I didn't prune it at all last year it had only been planted the previous autumn, and the hard winter almost killed it. Glad to say it looks much better this spring.
