There is something growing up right through where I planted one of my rhubarb plants! I have no idea what it is, but I'm assuming it is a bulb of some kind as it looks like the other bulbs that are coming up. That part of the garden was buried beneath the conifer hedge last year and I never knew there were other plants there, never seen anything growing in the hedge and the bulb must have been pretty deep as I didn't dig anything up when digging in the garden! There are now lots and lots of little green spikes coming up out of the ground. Wonder what it will turn out to be?

Triffids?????

No not triffids! Could have done with them the other week, I'm sure they'd stop the neighbours dog coming in the garden - instead had to spend over £100 on gates!
might be Lily of the Valley ?
Hi Kat think it might be what is commonly called Lords And Ladies and Cuckoopint, true name Arum Maculatum, best wishes.
Took a photo, if that helps anyone one!
It certainly looks like lords and ladies, quite a nice thing to have. Just don't get it mixed up with your rhubarb, I don't think it's edible!
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Thanks Rach! Never even knew we had Lords and Ladies in our garden! Well done Sooty for identifying it without even seeing a photo too!
Hi Kat
If it is Lords and Ladies then it usually forms several leaves in a clump before the flower appears, and the leaves are an elongated triangular shape:

Have you ever planted anything there? It looks like my Zantedeschia or 'Arum lily' plant.

It could also be a garden form of Hyacinth:

or a Hosta

You might have to wait and see what happens when it grows a bit more. :-)
Best wishes Chris

Chris - no I've never planted anything there, it is right at the edge of the hedge now and before would have been 2-3 feet deep in the hedge as it was only cut back last autumn and that's the first time it's been done since I've lived here. I've never even seen anything growing back there so it is a complete mystery especially as I dug it all over when I was creating the new bed.
Birds would have dropped the seed - cuckoopint or Lords and Ladies have juicy red berries in autumn...
