My other pheony arrived the other day, but a bit with a root and branch with buds on fell off, so I've planted that to see if it will grow and then I'll have two of them! The side of the garden is starting to fill up with plants now, just need my honeysuckle and drawf buddleia to arrive and then I will be done!
Millie & Fly the Border Collies
Hi KatTai
I assume we're talking about Peonies.
They don't like to be moved, so be sure that when you plant them, they are in their permanent positions where they can expand every year.
The bit that's broken off might grow, but it will probably take a while before it gets established.
Good luck with them. :-)
Best wishes Chris

Hi Chris, yup, I know they don't like to be moved so where they have been planted is where they will be staying. Had a bit of an emergency with the breakaway pheony though - have the border planned out so it was quite difficult finding where to put it! If it doesn't grow it doesn't grow, no big deal the pheony itself only cost £3.99, if I get two plants out of it then that's a bonus!
Well the breakaway is doing brilliantly! Has leafy buddy things appearing everywhere and actually seems to be growing quicker than the part it broke away from! Saying that, both are doing better than my first pheony which seems to be coming along very slowly!
