Been busy filling tubs with compost and planting some veg seeds (had a load that I could have planted last month!). These are all old seeds some of which have a Best Before of 2009 so I figured I'd get them planted and if they fail then I can replant as and when needed! Got carrot, beetroot, parsnip, kale, peas and mini-turnip all planted in pots. Plus I put some peas along the edge of the wall where the lavander is. Not the ideal place but I'm wanting something to climb up that bit of wall so figured it can't hurt to try!

Well done! Sunday will be my garden day :)
A closed mouth gathers no foot.
Hey Kat,
You've definitely got into Spring mode! Well done you!
Im not sure if this is right but Im sure someone will point it out if it isn't - that if you soak old seeds over night in water that helps them to germinate - whether this is all seeds I don't know. Anyhoo you've planted them now so perhaps this unsure helpful advice isn't what you needed to hear! lol
I do lots of herbs in pots from seed but not tried any vegetables barring tomatoes. Good luck and hope you get a bumper crop. :-)
Regards

Yes Sunday for me as well - just awaiting the arrival of a new deep bed !!
I think the broad beans will be first into the beds

I've heard that, never tried it though they get a good soaking in their pots anyway lol
(P.S. Tomatoes are a fruit!!!! hehehehe)
Oops! of course they are! silly me! lol
Looking forward to some planting myself but Himself and I laid low with a lurgy, hopefully the weather will be less murky and we'll be less diseased by the weekend then whoopdedoo! Like you, I LOVE planting. Hope your elderly seeds take off - they've got two choices - and a good early start gives you the choice to replant. Oh happy days.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking! They get an early start and if they fail then I have plenty of back-up and plenty of planting time left. All the seeds certainly LOOKED okay lol
