Just been out walking today, and spotted these in an hedgerow. I live in Lancashire, North-West England, and this seems early for daffodils to be in flower. Has anybody seen Dafs in flower earlier than this ?
There are 9000 species of bird on earth. Let's keep it that way.
Must say I haven't mine are only about 4inch high at the moment. Nice to see them out though.
Daffs are out in West Lancs (near Ormskirk) along with Snowdrops and Yellow Crocus. Not many but they are certainly beginning to show.
Gladdens the heart.

My daffs (in East Lancs) are up and in bud, and the snowdrops have been out a while now.
When my daffs open up I will feel much better.
Cheers, Linda.

They are out by the coast in Devon.
Build it and they will come.
Hi Pipit, this photo was taken just up the road from Martin Mere, so that's quite close to you I believe.
My In-laws live in Hartland, North Devon, and two years ago we went to see them over Christmas, and I couldn't believe seeing Daffodils in flower on Christmas day!!!.
Mind you, I have spent time on the Scilly Isles, and they harvest their Daffs, around this time.

Mine aren't out in Mid Devon yet.
Think I've got some appearing in my hedge up here in Angus, Scotland! But they are well sheltered in there. Too big to be snbowdrops of bluebells, of which there is no sign at the moment though I have some crocuses (I think that's what they are anyway) getting close to flowering time.

Hi Budgie
I see you live at Lostock Hall. I live near Ormskirk about 4 miles from Martin Mere. I'm a member of WWT and go to MM whenever I can. I went on a bird ID workshop there recently and saw 51 species that day - wonderful.
Cheers
