Not sure if this discussion is still running but to the person who asked/ I am now in my mid 80's and find weeding between my flag stones difficult. Pathclear advertise it is safe for wild life but not to tread on it while it is wet. So I wrote to them asking why. They said because if I did and then walked on the lawn it would kill the grass. They also said it was safe for birds so legally if it harms anything they can be held liable. I have kept their letter and have used Pathclear for several years. The birds peck between the paving and so far no casualties
