Membership at an all time high

I cannot find any reference to this on the RSPB's own web-site, but membership approaching 1.2 million is surely something to crow about?

http://www.birdwatch.co.uk/channel/newsitem.asp?c=11&cate=__16298

As the article says: with the attacks on the RSPB from the shooting industry and YFTB, fronted by the once legendary, now laughable, Ian Botham, this is something to be proud of, surely?
