POLL: How was your Big Schools' Birdwatch?

Let us know how you got on with your birdwatch....

  • The whole school took part and we received donations of binoculars and help from the local bird club. We spotted a total of 23 different species, with highlights being a flock of 14 Bullfinches and a mixed flock of Siskin, Greenfinch and Goldfinch.

  • Hi Nikki, lovely to hear about the great variety of birds you saw on your birdwatch - and the brilliant support you had from your local bird club. It's good to know there were plenty of birds around for you to see!

  • We are a Nursery School in Stockport and this was our first birdwatch event. All the children took part and enjoyed all the activities which included, counting the birds, recognising species, making tasty treats for the birds to eat and creating a camouflaged birdwatching den!  The children were given packs to take home and we have received lovely feedback from the parents and children.  The most common birds were magpies, house sparrows and blackbirds.
