Just completed but interupted by two sparrowhawks one early on a juvenile male and one about 10 minutes from the end a cracking male that attacked my feeder and landed on the birdtable, funny how everything goes quiet after that:-)

Yes, I have a male Sparrowhawk, as handsome as he is, I love to see the Sparrows and don't like to think of them being eaten.
In reply to Tiritiri:
I think it is important to remember that the more sparrowhawks there are then the more garden birds there are, a good healthy ecosystem requires both predators and prey it is the natural order.
In reply to Calder:
hiya, can any1 tell me how to up load pictures for the big garden birdwatch please
In reply to jojo&bsmum:
just joined, my kids have a membership and were really excited to do the bird watch, got some good pics of starlings to upload for all to see but don't know how to do it, can some1 please help us....
Our first BGBW. Very lucky - our haul included 8 starlings, 2 coal tits, 2 tree sparrows and a bullfinch. We've been putting food out now for several years, which has probably helped.
In reply to Markaby:
some more starlings
thanks for showing me how to upload my pics
another pic of starlings eating some bread
A big hello to Calder, Tiritiri, Markaby & Jojo.
Markaby what was the Bullfinch eating as I'd love to attract them into my garden?
