Anyone know what this bird is? He’s about 75m away from me so very large. He’s across the stream on the marsh and I’m sitting in my kitchen watching him

One thing it definitely isn't is an osprey. I agree with others that it looks like a released non native.

I haven't heard of them. Is it a UK society? Either way, their thought is wrong on a number of accounts. No ospreys in UK in January, youngsters look very similar to adults and these photos wouldn't pick up the differences imo, colouring is wrong, behaviour is not ospreyesque etc. Hopefully, they did say their suggestion was a guess.
