Feel sure that the two small finches I keep seeing in my garden are serins! One has a very yellow head and both have stripey backs. We have birch catkins at the moment which apparently they like to feed on. How rare are they?

In reply to Cath M:
Hi- Siskins like catkins and alders. Serins are really rare in Britain and most are in southern Europe or Africa in the winter.
