Camping always makes me feel like I’m going on a big adventure! Whether I’m setting up for a back-garden sleepover, heading over to a music festival or going to a campsite, there’s nothing like spending time with family and friends in the fresh air. With our Big Wild Sleepout just around the corner it’s time to dig out your tent, check the batteries in your torch and (most important of all) make sure you’ve stocked up on marshmallows!

Camping on an island :
You don’t need to go half way across the world for an island hopping adventure, for one night only, on Saturday 8th August, Havergate Island Reserve is open for camping as a part of our Big Wild Sleepout. Hop on the boat at 2:30pm for a weekend of outdoor activities.

Camping near the seaside:
What could be better than falling asleep to the sound of the crashing waves? As a part of our Big Wild Sleepout, On Friday 7th August get yourself down to Arne Nature Reserve in Dorset and enjoy a guided night walk and delicious locally sourced food on a camp fire!

Camping by the loch:
How about a night gazing under the stars of our Loch Leven Reserve in Perth and Kinross? From 8th- 9th August discover the loch’s nocturnal wildlife and take part in bush craft activities.

Camping in the wetlands:
Why not spend your Big Wild Sleepout at the Dee Estuary Burton Mere Wetlands? From 8th- 9th August spend an evening in the wilderness, moth trapping and bat watching.

Camping in the woods:
For the more intrepid campers among you, see if you can survive a night camping in the woods. From 8th- 9th August the RSPB is hosting a Big Wild Sleepout on the Eastern Moors, South Yorkshire. But there’s no need to bring a tent, you’ll be making your own shelter like a true adventurer.
