I was sitting innocently at the computer this morning when I happened to look out of the window towards the woodland behind our garden. I'm glad I did as I spotted the unmistakeable shape of a woodpecker! I quickly grabbed the ever present camera and got off some snaps - when I looked closely at what I'd snapped I realised I'd got a beautiful green woody:
I don't see these here very often so I was very happy.
This afternoon, Limpy and I had a quick trip out to Aldeburgh - on our return a very familiar bird was posing on a neighbouring roof:
I don't know if his presence does anything for the gadgetry on that roof!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Wow Clare, wish I could look out of the window and see a Green Woodpecker ! fantastic and well done on the photos. Love the crow too, must be trying to tune in to Birds of a Feather lol

Some lucky pictures there, Clare. I've never seen a green woody.
Green woodie - wow. Well done spotting it Clare, the crow also nice to see, has it a bare patch or just a white patch on it's neck area?
Lot to learn
