It was really windy here on Wednesday afternoon but the day was sunny and Felixstowe Ferry beckoned. Armed with the essential camera (and a smaller lens!) I headed to the coast:
Of course, this kind of weather is a gift to the local gulls.
Absolutely joyful!
Looking rather fetching in the late afternoon light!
Taking a well-earned break.
Thoroughly chilled out after a serious yawn!
This adorable dog was pottering about.
I first thought these were redshanks but they turned out to be black-tailed godwits! Not something I often see here.
Making the most of the fading daylight.
Finishing with a lovely black-headed gull. It was hard work!
Enjoy, as always.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
It's always lovely to watch the gulls in flight and must be lovely by the harbour too with all the little fishing boats and the ferry ! Love the sweet faced little pooch and its curly coat.

You made the most of the afternoon light Clare, lovely photos, also the chilled out H Gull is just so funny. Hope that lovely pooch had an owner nearby.
Lot to learn

A set of pics where I could almost smell the salt of the sea, Clare!
