Spring was definitely in the air at Trimley this afternoon - the black-headed gulls were shouting at the tops of their voices and all sorts of lovely birds were congregating. It's fair to say I snapped quite a lot of them:
A charging coot. Is there any other kind?
A vocal pochard.
This little grebe obliging stayed above water for me.
A lovely pair of tufted ducks.
This buzzard posed perfectly. Just too far away!
A starling potters near a relaxed oystercatcher.
The gorgeous male pintail ensures I manage to snap him.
A black-tailed godwit emerges from a mixed crowd of shelduck, shoveler and oystercatcher.
A beautiful male wigeon.
An impressive splashdown from this lovely mute swan.
There were a few golden plovers about.
This redshank forages near a sleepy lesser black-back.
This little egret scarpered right after I took this.
A very companionable preen.
A gadwall enjoying its own company.
This looked like fun!
I'm finishing with a glossy crow and its reflection.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
A real photos-fest of species there Clare and although I can't choose a favourite I do have a soft spot for that little Grebe :)

Looks like a great place Clare, great selection of species. Would love to see a Pintail duck,we don't seem to get sightings of them down here. Nice to see the large numbers of Golden Plover too, lovely birds. Buzzards always perch where you can't photograph them.I saw one really close today...shame it was in a bush on a roundabout, and I was driving !

You certainly know your ducks and seabirds Clare, I should bookmark this thread so I can look up any I see. Love the buzzard up in the tree, that is about how far away I get to see them very often.
Lot to learn
