It was a lovely afternoon here and this stunning bird was making the most of it:
It flew off a short while after taking these. What a nice change it made to have a kestrel pose for me!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
What a lovely looking Kestrel, lovely set of photos Clare but wondering where you got that blue sky from as I'd have to photoshop it in to my photos today lol

Great photos again Clare - I love Kestrels - they are so beautiful. I see a lot of them around Aldeburgh and the road to the A12.
Gorgeous Kestrel, Clare--thanks for posting! Now when Wendy sees it she will want you to post it to her!
Kind regards, Ann
It seems like you made the most of the opportunity as well with those shots :) It is great, isn't it, when you catch a bird in the right place who's willing to sit still, whether your just watching or taking photos.

Lovely looking Kestrel, Clare. She would be the perfect partner for Wendy's male. Pity she's 50 miles away

Aren't they beautiful birds, you were so lucky to get those photos while she perched up in the tree like that Clare, right place right time, and as Hazy said, perfect blue sky too.
Lot to learn
She's beautiful, Clare. You're so lucky to have caught her!
