The afternoon here took a turn for the better as the sun came out! Having heard that there was a juvenile white-tailed eagle floating around on the Suffolk coast I thought I could do a lot worse than head to the Ferry in case it made an appearance. Sadly it didn't, but there were a few other birds about:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
After leaving the Ferry I headed for the other end of Felixstowe, the Viewing Point. Sadly I didn't see any of the Port peregrines but a good number of the usual suspects were about:
Some good photos there, Clare. Gulls do make good subjects. A pity there were only the three posts to be shared between so many!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
I loved watching the unsubtlety they used in getting to perch on one of them!
Some lovely shots there, Clare. I've said it before, but I do have a particular liking for Gulls, and your posts never disappoint in that respect. I've noticed that you're using a new camera and lens set up, it looks to be paying dividends already.

I can see you're enjoying your new camera, Clare :-). Lovely pics.
No shortage of gulls at the ferry. Nice to see the Turnstones too, Clare.

Lovely photos. I expect the Ferals were glad that the Peregrines were a no-show, even if you were disappointed!

Always love to see the Gulls, looks like a beautiful day with some good coastal bird watching :) the BHG's are looking good in their spring/summer breeding plumage but don't they make a racket lol
