As most of you know an opportunistic crow stole an egg from the Loch of The Lowes nest on Wednesday 7 May.
Now there were only three eggs in the nest and so two were left.
The main problems are to work out which egg was stolen and was it egg #1, #2 or #3.
This is proving to be no easy task as some of the information is missing and identifying osprey eggs can be a tricky business.
Now a number of people have done analysis already but it would be good if people could present their theories afresh so that we can perhaps home in on a solution.
I have my own thoughts on the problem but it keeps slipping away.
So let us see if we can solve "The Mystery of The Stolen Egg" rather like we solved "The Mystery of The Missing Egg" back in 2006.

Now for those of you who have never indulged in splodgology before it is a question of seeing patterns on the eggs which remind you of something else. For example I like to think of that splodge in the middle of the egg at the back as ET.
The egg at the front right has two big eyes at the narrow end of the egg and a happy face somewhere in the middle. Now interestingly I cannot see any of these features on the remaining eggs so it is possible that was the egg that was taken. We know that the egg that was taken was a deeply coloured egg.
I also happen to have seen a picture of the front right egg from a slightly different angle
Now that means that we have seen most of the way around that egg.
