No time to prepare a detailed synopsis of yesterday's discouraging events, which included matings and intrusions (with support from male) but no fish, despite EJ leaving the nest and her egg for a couple of quite long periods.
This sums up most of our feelings (me having said that I was not worried):
===============
Edit
A couple of videos added to yesterday's DU, covering EJ's long break during which the male defended, and EJ tending the nestcup followed by a quick fly-around.
IMAGICAT
Is anyone else here? Very quiet for the DU when the male has landed!!!
I've been watching but am getting increasingly frustrated! - and shouting at EJ! - tell him you need FISH! (louder!)

I've been half watching while doing a Glaslyn video, now I've started on the latest travesty ;) here... I thought Moffer would have covered it with blow-by-blow snaps, she must have been called away.
Q: Is "Twiggy" the first male who turned up? He was the one who brought her a good headless fish but got it back when she dropped it.
Good morning my fellow Ospreyholics.
Thanks for all the updates etc,. Sad to see EJ has still not been given a fish. I really hope the male who has been about this morning will come to his senses. Oh well here goes (clears throat)
FISH PLEASE. NOW!!
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Thanks Scylla :-)
I was beginning to think I had been watching a recording!!! It really was very eerie just being "here" by myself LOL
I've just added times to my posts just now with having issues yesterday but seems much better now.
Look forward (well not really - I wish he would feed her) to the video.
Hiya dear HERON !!! :)
Just to keep you going, Karen ;)
(What a waste of time, but I can't get this pic clear enough.)
Catch up. 10.22 EJ has a tidy up of the nest cup
10.33 EJ starts to call
Male arrives with grass??
He has a full crop again, shame on you
He has the nerve to clean his beak on the nest!!!
He's got some cheek
and again!
You tell him EJ
Off he goes
Poor EJ is left wanting
Oh Scylla - wishful thinking indeed. I wish I could laugh :-))
I hope a real dominant male appears on the scene soon and sends this male packing.
Also, I think we are now approaching about 60 hours since the first egg was laid. 66 hours seems about the average gap between #1 and #2 with EJ so we could very well see another egg soon. What a thought!
Time for a break - SYL

I really hope that egg was a one-off frustration job.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
