This is a new thread to follow the travels of these three young ospreys from the Loch Garten nest.
Millicent
This female juvenile is the eldest of the 2014 brood, hatched on 17th May and fledged on 12th July. Millicent’s ring is Blue/White AN0
Seasca
Also female, the second of the 2014 brood, hatched 19th May and fledged on 15th July. Seasca’s ring is Blue/White AN9.
LG blog on the ringing and tagging of Millicent & Seasca. Their younger sister Druie is not tagged, but ringed Blue/White AN8.
Breagha
A male from the 2013 brood, hatched 28th May and fledged on 19th July. Breagha’s ring is Blue/white CF4.
LG blog on the ringing and tagging Breagha and elder sibling Oighrig.
The migrations of Breagha and Oighrig were previously followed in this thread. Contact was lost with Oighrig in January 2014, but Breagha has survived and is living in the tidal creeks of the Casamance river in southern Senegal.
A GE update has just come through for Breagha..just as I suspected, he arrived back in his old haunts on the Vienne on the 17th.
I was looking at a holiday based in Chinon yesterday - I might go ahead and book it now!
Thanks Sue

Well that was a correct prediction.

Many thanks, Sue and Alan! Sue, we will all want to see your holiday snaps--if you are lucky enough to see him!
Kind regards, Ann
Thanks Sue, I hope if you go to France you manage to see him. If you don't then I hope it is because he has left and is on his was to the UK :-)

Relieved to see the update Thank you both. Keep safe young man
That is such good news, thank you Sue. On his southward migration he arrived on the Loire on 1 September 2013, and left on 5 October 2013, so spent 34 days enjoying the fish of the Loire, with a cluster of points on Lac de Tétine in particular.
Breagha returned as a two-year old on 16 June 2015 and roosted overnight, presumably feeding on the Loire. It will be really interesting to see the next update. Will he, won't he! More exciting, I feel, is will he be the first LG tagged osprey to return to the UK, and more important to return to LG!! But I hope he stays long enough for you to find him Sue, and I look forwarding to hearing about your search in due course!
