We have an event on Saturday which is a real celebration of the reserves wildlife. Although the bird ringing demonstration has been cancelled, we still have a selection of exciting events on offer.
The event begins with the marvelous moths session, when we will be looking for colourful moths, like the brightly coloured canary shouldered thorn:

We will then have a mini beast safari, when we will look for creepy crawlies such as Roesel's bush crickets:
We will then do some pond dipping, when we will aim to find some monsters of the deep. We hope to find plenty of weird and wonderful creatures including some dragonfly nymphs:

We will then take a walk around the Brandon Fen family trail and take part in the Brandon Fen nature challenge. We will walk around the trail and try to find as many species of wildlife as possible. We will compile a list of all of the species that we have seen at the end of the walk.

We will finish off by "going bats" during a bat walk around the reserve. Bat detectors will be available to borrow. We will listen out for species like pipistrelle bats.

This event is open to all but please note that booking is essential for each of the events. There are still plenty of spaces available and details on how to book can be found on each events page. We hope to see you there.
