Hello! Here's the photos blog from this week at Old Moor, many thanks for sharing your pics with us all. If you click on the individual photos then you get a larger version...
I'll start with 3 photos from Andrew L. We were in the Wader Scrape at the same time and spotted a snipe behind grass to the left of the hide....we waited for it to move into a gap for a better view, but it chose not to...I then moved on but Andrew waited some more and got this photo!
Also from Andrew L, a shovelor.
The numbers of wigeon are growing at OM and it's fab to hear their 'whistle.' Here's what they sound like via the RSPB page about them and a photo, also from Andrew L.
Keith Pickering emailed a few pf his photos this week, he saw a bittern being chased it seems by a lapwing!
Also from Keith Pickering, a lovely pic of a grey wagtail.
Ian Butler took this great pic of two spotted redshank. If you'd like to know more them then here's the RSPB page.
Ian also took this pic of one of our tree sparrows. :)
From John Sanderson, a wheatear, lovely!
Also from John Sanderson this wonderful photo of a hovering kingfisher!
Charlotte Deane took this photo of Canada geese...
From Di, a couple of common darters enjoying the new pond dipping platform... :)
From me, a couple more macro shots from last weekend...
And finally.... also from me, the starling flock over the Mere.
Have a wonderful weekend and we hope to see you at Old Moor.
