Hello, my turn again today and there are quite a few good reports!
The American Plover is still around on Wath Ings and there are a few photos of it on the Barnsley Birders blog from yesterday, click here.
Also on the Barnsley Blog today it says there are extended opening hours until dusk - here. I haven't been able to confirm this via OM but reckon it's right... if you get there after 5 and the gates are open then enjoy.... :)
Also seen today from Wath Ings were; a bittern, 3 snipe, 29 ruff, dunlin, 17+ black tailed godwits, 3 spotted redshank, a curlew sandpiper and a ringed plover, 350+ golden plover and no doubt quite a few lapwing too....
A juv male marsh harrier flew over OM from Wombwell too.....
If you visited today and saw anything else then feel free to add it in via a comment!
Photo time....
A dark dagger moth caterpillar ( I think) from last weekend, found near Wath Ings. It was on a post and what a wonderful looking creature!
A little egret from Tuesday from the Family Hide... gorgeous!
And finally...an autumnal OM leaf....
