You may have seen our previous blog post asking for you to help the Prime Minister decide how to spend £600 million on farming.

Since Saturday, we’ve had over 10,000 people take the e-action asking the PM to ensure as much of this money as possible helps farmers save our threatened wildlife – thank you for all your support!

If you haven’t taken the action yet, you can do so here and tweet @number10gov asking the PM not to cut the life from the countryside using hashtag #CAPreform.

We’re expecting a decision on this soon as ministers across the UK have to report to the European Commission by the end of the year on how they plan to spend their allotted Common Agriculture Policy money.

With this crucial decision being made, we wanted to show Defra (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) just how much support we’ve had for wildlife-friendly farming. So on Thursday, our Chief Executive Mike Clarke will meet George Eustice (Under Secretary of State for farming, food and marine environment) to show him the support we’ve had.

And as it’s nearly Christmas, we’re doing a hand-in with a festive flavour – a Christmas hamper which includes a variety of products from farmers who work with wildlife in mind. We'll also hand in a Christmas card highlighting the variety of support we’ve had.

Over the next few days, we'll showcase the products included in the hamper as well as the personal messages from the people who made them. At the end of the week, we'll reveal what the hamper looks like as well as an update from the hand-in.

Look out for our blog posts this week...
