Hi everyone! I was just wondering if anyone (like me) has birds that they recognise (and even name) as the biggest characters in your garden. For example, I have an incredibly tame Dunnock (I didn't tame him, he's always been this way) who hopps around my feet pickinging up the seed when I'm refilling feeders. I'm always afraid I'll stand on him! He's very feisty, and tells the Starlings off when they try to bully him away from his food. I can't imagine my garden without him! Does anyone else have a bird or birds like this?Hedgy:
PeregrineRhi I think your Fatty is a lady Fatty, "Does my bum look big in these feathers lol" In a lovely Welsh accent of course!
You may be right thebirdmum! I wonder if there is a regional defference in 'bird accents?' lol.
Hi Peregrine
I have lived in Scotland all my life, until three years ago, and now I live in Bedford, England
The birds calls ie Blackbirds are very different to each county in the UK. Blackbirds differ in big ways, and the same applies to the Robins. Their calls are very different.
So we move around, and we discover more and more about our birds
Anyone else noticed the regional accent with their 'garden' birds
Regards
Kathy and Dave.
LOL PeregrineRhi, there is a zoo programme I think its called 'Animals Like Us' they do voice overs for the animals in various different accents. There were some female Welsh (Merthyr Tydvell I think) meerkats once who got a new male, one said "Grab him Shirley, grab him quick!" It was so funny we were crying.
I like to think they have little accents for their chirps. God knows what all of the other birds in the country would think of the Dudley birds though :-/

Now now Paul just cos you're from Willenhall there's not much difference in 6-8 miles lol :-D
OOh I forgot to mention the robin that sings at night on here (only remembered as he just started.) can go on until the early hours! There is a big street lamp outside, mounted on a wall, and he stands on that... maybe he thinks it's daytime?
That's strange Peregrine, I've never heard of that.
