And just in time for Christmas too! I was hoping I'd get some hatchlings at Christmas time as my closest friend is getting a couple for Christmas (though it will be a good few months before they'll be able to leave home) and this little girl has hatched just in time! Fingers crossed her sister may hatch soon too!
No photos just yet as she is going through he first shed at the moment so I'm leaving her alone to get the last of her old skin off and get used to her new surroundings before bothering her too much. It was the shed skin that gave away that there was a new hatchling - despite her being sat in full view that was the first thing I spotted! It was only after I saw the skin that I saw her lol
She doesn't have a name yet either as I don't have the honour of naming this one lol

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! Well done Kat Tai they are gorgeous. Are they your first hatchlings? I have a male & female leopard gecko, they are quite old and from a rescue centre. Amber laid eggs once but nothing became of them. She hasn't laid anymore, so I guess I'm not gona be a gecko grandma. Good Luck with your babies.

Nope, I had sand gecko hatchlings a couple of years ago and I've had two other mourning geckos hatch out this year too, with more on the way by the look of it! They are certainly keeping me busy lol
Another one hatched out yesterday and another one is due! Only another 2-4 to go and then I should be safe for a couple of months, provided there are no other eggs hidden away somewhere, but Cumbrae is ready to lay again in the next week lol
And another hatched today!
Congratulations !!!!
I'm so pleased for you. So remind me, how many babie have you as of now? Have you got homes for all of them?
Cheers, Linda.

Trying to post again as the forum went bye-bye! lol
I have 5 hatchlings now and 2 adults. One I'm keeping (that's Ailsa) who will hopefully join the adults once she is old enough, two are going to a friend and newest two will be going up for sale once they are ready.
Hi KatTai,
The forum also went belly up when I tried to answer you last night!
You will have your work cut out for you with 5 babies to look after. Do they have a good survival rate once they are hatched? How many babies could they have in a year?
Well, Cumbrae is the oldest hatchling and she will be a year old in Feburary. Haven't lost one yet though so it's a good start. They're relatively hardy despite their small size, just finding them is the problem! It's possible for a female to lay two egggs every month or so, so could end up with up to around 24 babies per year from each female so that is a lot of mini-mourning geckos!
You will have to find some mourning gecko contraceptives!!!! I thinks it is brilliant that you have managed to breed these fascinating creatures. How small are they? Do they eat crickets?
They get to 45mm long, excluding the tail which is around the same length of the body. They'll eat small crickets, but the main diet of mine is the Crested Gecko 2-part diet which comes in lots of flavours, plus they occassionally get some fresh fruit when I remember not to eat it all myself! They'll eat pretty much anything they can fit in their mouths though lol They don't seem to be at all fussy when it comes to food! I've ordered some hatchling locusts for my other geckos and if they are small enough a couple will get thrown in with the mourning geckos too!
