I thought Kate posted well and started a thread hoping that things would quieten down.
I have never responded to the pest and have supported patience in getting this thing sorted.
What happened ?- the post was immediately locked - I think that is incompetent abuse by poorly educated autocracy!!!!!

Hmmmm ok only allow the good eggs that privilege? That way not everyone could do it but the RSPB wouldn't have to give admin rights to anyone...

I'm not sure that I feel comfortable suggesting Good Eggs moderate/similar at weekends, out of hours, given some of the past 'going's on's' by the very few. Enough said, me feels.

Do they volunteer to moderate the forums? I didn't know that. I assumed it was part of their job description.
I don't know for sure, but I am sure the mods have said before that sometimes things slip through the net, as they do the modding around their day jobs .. it's why the report button is so important, they must recieve an email alerting them, and then they can act.
Outside office hours clearly needs to be looked at.
The only thing will spammers/ trolls you can only react, by the very virtue of the attack. The thing is to speed up reaction time I guess.
Sometimes it needs unpleasant things like this to move things along alas.
