    Call in and take me with you - I can make good shortbread!

  • OMIGOD:   What sort of a thread is this!!  It's not healthy for someone like me, who just loves lemon meringue pie, cheesecake & just about anything else naughty!  I only have to look in the cakeshop window to put on 2 pounds. Fascinated to find that you have 'Devonshire Teas' in your neck of the woods, Wattle!

    Just had a dinner party (cooked for 4, on my own birthday!) and served homemade cheesecake made with Philadelphia cheese & double cream, topped with fresh picked blackberries from the hedgerow & our own raspberries- we were all so full after, we couldn't speak for a bit!

  • Hi Lindybird... It's a good job you don't live in Bournemouth then. They opened a Krispy Kreme Donut shop there a couple of months back - played havoc with my friend's diet!

    The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.

    The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

    Bad news Squirrel

    Is it a new chain of Krispy Kreme Donut shops (meaning forget the diet all together shops) {eek}

    No wonder your friends diet went haywire. {eek}

  • Doughnuts I can turn my back on anytime!  (Sure that is how it was spelt when I was young - 'cos I was once!)

    Nasty, greasy, sugary things - can't bear any finger foods which make me sticky - always feel I won't be clean again until I've had an all-over shower, hand-washing just isn't enough!

  • Me too Goldfinch, Had a Saturday job many years ago in a bakers and used to fill the Jam ones. Yuk,

    Doughnuts is, indeed, the correct spelling as far as I am concerned as well but that is how the shop spells its name so who an I to argue - even if it is wrong!!! ☺ ☺ ☺

  • OG - I will post my recipe for you on your page - perhaps you could reciprocate with your shortbread recipe, which is something I can't seem to master! And Soosin - you're welcome anytime!
