Read this link below. This is why all conservation organisation cull Grey Squirrels humanely. This has to be done. Some might not like this. The Red Squirrel are a UK native species. The Grey Squirrels are not a UK native species.Grey Squirrel are carriers of Squirrel Pox. Once Red Squirrels catch Squirrel Pox from the Grey Squirrls they will die in approx 15 days. This is why Grey Squirrels have to be culled humanely. The Red Squirrel are a top protested species. The Grey squirrels are classified as a pest. Sometimes in wildlife conservation difficult decisions have to made.. And I have to agree. It’s never plain sailing in wildlife conservation management.
