After what could probably be deemed as a challenging year, not just from a Covid perspective, but the inclement weather and lack of sun that many of us have experienced, 2021 did deliver a good selection of sunrise and sunset photos, with a big thank you to all that contributed, no matter how big or small that contribution was.

I was lucky to get a sunset to end my selection for 2021 on New Years Eve, and I managed to grab a sunrise this morning to kick start this years thread.

This morning I had to collect my wife and her sister from Liverpool airport at 00:30 am so I had to drive down last night. I took the opportunity of catching a sunset over the sea as we don't see that over here on the East coast. I chose Crosby Beach where Anthony Gormleys states are in the sea, though I couldn't get them with the sun behind them )I preferred to keep my feet dry. There were a couple of people flying paraglides and I managed to catch the sunset underneath the parachute.
I like the way you've captured the sunset under the canopy of the surfers parachute.
Kind regards, Ann
From a couple of nights ago, an urban sunrise
and looking over to the west, the clouds capturing the sunrise colours nicely
Sunday at Hinton Airfield, part of the Park & Ride for the Silverstone GP, was an early start, to get as near the front of the queues as possible, and some of the former WWII airfields in Oxfordshire were used for the Park & Ride. We were in Hinton Airfield, still active as a small plane and glider airfield, just before sunrise.
And as the sun was actually rising....
Derwent Reservoir tonight - nice glow below the clouds.

That's a lovely tranquil shot. I feel quite chilled just looking at it ...
