Sunrises and Sunsets 2022: share your photos here

After what could probably be deemed as a challenging year, not just from a Covid perspective, but the inclement weather and lack of sun that many of us have experienced, 2021 did deliver a good selection of sunrise and sunset photos, with a big thank you to all that contributed, no matter how big or small that contribution was.

I was lucky to get a sunset to end my selection for 2021 on New Years Eve, and I managed to grab a sunrise this morning to kick start this years thread.

A New Day, A New Dawn, A New Year.

  • In reply to photo - I think thats cooll

  • Best Sunset I got today. I been wondering where the sun has gone recently cause its not in the  place it’s been in since Winter where it goes down and  I have found it today.  it is now past the house on left  and gone in the middle and on the right. So has moved from the usual position it is normally in around 5 and 5:30. Rather than further left Where I usually take it. It used to go down between 4:30 and 5oclock and then it started going down between 5 and 5:30. And now its  going down between 5:30 and 6oclock. It should make takeing  pictures of the sunset easier now iv caught up with the current sunset times and where it is at the moment. I had 2 clear days with no clouds at all. But had lost the timeing and direction of the sunset so when I saw the orange light Just got the best I could. It was cloudy yesterday and completely cloudy today so not the best sunset but iv managed to get a picture of the sunset even though it’s not as good as mine usually are you can see the sun low cause it’s going down

  • I decided to get close to the Sun today so I went in the Garden and took a picture of it from the tree since the house it’s near is behind the tree and the leaves and the sun make a good nature Sunset Photo.
I took it at differant angles and pressed the screen where the sun is to decrease the glare and get rid of the red ring that can apear in front of something bright and make it easyer to get the shape and colour of the sun aswell as getting the Trees in I hope you enjoy the photos.

in this photo the sunset lights up the red and green leafs its like a Circle of Green and red leafs around the Sun

  • This evening...

    (Pardon the Scottish Accent)

  • That’s good. I think the clouds add a good effect to the sunset sky. I didn’t really have a sunset as such cause thick low Stratus cloud blanketed the whole sky in white so it hid the sun. I think the sunset in your photo is very colourful
  • The mist is disappearing slowly and there’s a break in the clouds. At long last we have a Sunset

    6:57 pm

    7:30 pm

most of the thick Stratus cloud has passed over. Thick stratus is the one that looks plain featureless and boring and covers the whole sky In white completely. Its a type of low Cloud And if it’s low enough it becomes mist or fog. It turned into  mist or fog yesterday and today. Its come and passed again for two days now. . Cause it’s gone now I could  see the sunset sky When the sun went down. It could come back tomarow though. Im hopeing it clears in the evening so I can see the sunset like today. . It might or might not come back but If it doesn’t then I will get better sunset photos.

  • Sorry to say it is very cloudy so theres no obvious Colourful sunset

This is where the sun sets. And it’s too cloudy to see it today.

I think I forgot to send it  but this is on last Friday at 5:17 pm. The sun is setting later than that now
