After what could probably be deemed as a challenging year, not just from a Covid perspective, but the inclement weather and lack of sun that many of us have experienced, 2021 did deliver a good selection of sunrise and sunset photos, with a big thank you to all that contributed, no matter how big or small that contribution was.

I was lucky to get a sunset to end my selection for 2021 on New Years Eve, and I managed to grab a sunrise this morning to kick start this years thread.

Sunset this evening - not sure if the Sahara sand storm has anything to do with it

I'd be inclined to agree with regarding the sunset not being Sahara sand effect.
Having seen it once, and only the once, before, it is quite a distinguished sand/peach type colour.
However, still an impressive sunset, and one I'd be more than proud of.
A little more industrial but I was photoing the seagulls and the crane jumped into the scene (and if people think they are afraid of bird spikes they are mistaken as the gull in the centre demonstrates).
Beachwalker - My favourite occupation as I love exploring my home county and photographing its beauty.
Yes they defamtlt arnt afraid of spikes. When Iv gone to places like ASDA for example they has spikes on posts and on the roof but that doesnt really stop them from landing they find a way to land even with spikes. I havnt been able to get any pictures of sunsets recently. I think it is really cooll you got the gulls in the photo with the sunset in the background
The dramatic cloudscape is really great in this one.

Many thanks for the comment on my car park photo.
The sky was blue purple but my camara was being temperamental and wouldn’t let me take a picture until it was less obvious but you can still see the
the orange part is actually pink but my camara didn’t pick up on it well.

Its still come out well.
I'm not too familiar with smartphones for photography, though they seem aim for the perfect colour, exposure and tones, which isn't what every one wants. Using the settings menu I know some will allow you to switch on/off the auto white balance, also known as AWB in the settings. That might help to retain some of the original tones next time.
There was a sunrise somewhere in there, behind the fog.
That was one sunrise I didn't mind not seeing, because it was going to be, and was, a brilliantly sunny day.
