Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can

  • In reply to Seaman:

Yes, or should I say a large percentage of the house is Elizabethan.

The earliest records of the house, a moated medieval manor house, date back to 1483, with subsequent additions and alterations. Its a fascinating place with priest holes where the Jesuit Priests would hide from persecution and many other artefacts.

The gardens are well tended and harbour a lot of wildlife, which make it a good place to visit, not just for the house and gardens, but wildlife as well.

Just a short walk from the house is St Michael's Church, a very ornate little church, formerly Catholic, and later, Church of England, which is also rich with wildlife.

  • A bit of a booster for this thread, views from RSPB Conwy, looking down the estuary on a cloudy, but very warm day,

And across the estuary, Conwy Castle and Conwy Mountain (really a hill at 245 mtrs asl)

No worries, family is important and always good to keep in touch with, especially as a lot of us haven't seen family members for a year and more no thanks to Covid.

Make sure you've a cuppa and biccie or two for the photo report.

  • Lets try and bump this thread up a bit. Though very urban, our house being circa a century old, (Land Registry dates it circa 1920), back when our house was built, gardens were gardens, and often a lace where food was grown.

It was a gloriously hot and sunny day, though I'd grab a couple before the cloud and showers return....
