Thought I'd put a few photos up of habitat instead of birds or wildlife as without suitable habitat there would be no birds/wildlife !
We've only been venturing out on to our local parkland and within an hours drive away; here's a few pics of England's green and pleasant land ! All taken on iPhone.
This was Peak District heading towards Hartington Village
heading out of Hartington towards River Dove
River Dove
This is farmland by Alderley Park in Cheshire
and this is the parkland area with lots of trees and lots of ferns and Rhododendrons. Bluebells were still in flower here .....
one of several ponds on the parkland
and this is Woolston Eyes nature reserve near Warrington where there is a huge expanse of reed beds attracting all sorts of birds including breeding Black-necked Grebes
This morning we took a short drive to the area of Marple and Brabyns Park where we walked a section of the River Goyt and then headed towards the Peak Forest Canal and junction of Macclesfield Canal
1st a nice water drop area on River Goyt
and lock area on the Peak Forest Canal
Please feel to add your scenic shots here if you wish (no birds or wildlife ! ) just habitat, countryside, or even coast etc.....
Torrisdale Bay with the River Borgie in the foreground, from back in 2014. Between Tongue and Bettyhill in the far north of Scotland. :-)
Looking down Loch Shiel, having just seen the Harry Potter train, whilst scouring the sky for Golden Eagle. Successful but distant, and the only one we've seen :o)
Lovely photos Hazel and the first few I recognised in an instant, without that habitat, we'd have no birds, no insects and much more would be missing.
Many thanks for sharing and a great idea for a thread.
Linda, while a lot of the Peak District (likewise many National Parks, Lake District, Snowdonia, North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales etc) has been shaped by quarrying, mining and the mills, it still is a lovely part of the world.
Just a couple for now: Lock Gynack, Kingussie
River Wye, Ashford-in-the-water, Peak District
I love that area PB I think we have had two more Golden Eagle sightings than Hogwarts Express sightings there but we did see the train once in full steam our coach driver had tried to race the train when the line and the road run close together
