Has anyone read Mark Avery’s blog today about the RSPB’s AGM tomorrow and the announcement tomorrow of what the RSPB’s future policy on Game Bird Shooting on moors is going to be and his worries about tomorrow. I won’t say any more, but it is an interesting read and worrying. Mark Avery was the RSPB’s former Conservation Director before Martin Harper.
Whatever they say I doubt it'll be enough - nothing short of demanding a complete ban on driven grouse shooting will be enough to satisfy me.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I don't understand why more emphasis isn't put on the burning aspect. The unnecessary releasing of CO2 is a bit of an open goal.
