Just because there's way too much great photography on this site...!
You know the feeling. You only got one or a few photos of it and they're not very good, but you can't bear to throw the photos away because they're all you have of that particular species. So you keep them, just until you get better ones :) We've managed to 'upgrade' some of the species below since these bad pics were taken, but not all...
Please join in! I can't be the only one who hordes terrible wildlife photos :)
Collared Flycatcher
Otter
Peregrine
and best (worst) of all, Nightjar!

That looks like my standard dragon photo although usually managed to miss the head!
Wagtail moving at the speed of light

That waggie's really motoring :)
I just found another winner. This was the first Marsh Tit I've seen on my local patch so I was very keen to get a photo of it... ANY photo of it. Even so I was pleased that I did manage some slightly better photos after this.
Camera was set up for semi still shots when the Jay suddenly came flying in ........... what a pity, could have been a nice photo !

Glad you kept these, i will keep an eye out now for Nightjars.
great thread, i went to see my family in Northampton and we don't have red kites here in the Channel Islands so i went trigger happy when we went for a walk and saw loads. here is my best shot of one.
Brill!! aren't they. I went to York a week last Sunday and one came gliding over the very busy A1(M) - A62 junction. Probably one of the Harewood House reintros. Still a big thrill. On journeys into the Thames Valley I'm now counting dozens. Furthest north; Banbury, furthest south, Wokingham. Not bad for a bird on the verge of being taken off the UK list a couple of decades ago.
oh dear, camera struggling with auto focus with all the twigs and branches when this little bird came along; wild guessing it could be a female Chaffinch but could someone tell me what it is please ? !!! First bird that is different in the garden and I get a blurred photo ......... well three blurred photos LOL !
Wooohooo, finally I get it right LOL ...... You see, your lessons are getting through Alan THANK YOU !! and I had to get this first little girl to our feeders out of focus :(
Watch this space LOL !!
I was thinking the same after I posted that last comment LOL !!
