Hello, we have had several starlings & spadger's coming back into our garden, now the weather has changed.
I slept in this morning, and came downstairs to find the sparrows lining up looking very fed up with me as the feeders were empty. Blame the starlings, their habit of frenzy feeding takes some keeping up with:-) Nice to see them all back now, even the chaffies are around on the sunflower hearts, and the blue and great tits have returned for the peanuts, must make more pastry in order to cope.
Similar happened here Gaynor, was making a cuppa & spotted 25-30 Spadgers perched all over top of Pyracantha ... both feeders empty ... so I jumped to it & refilled in double-quick time!! Lol
They certainly keep us on our toes Wendy.
Sorry, folks, but what is a Spadger?
I am seeing lots of tits at the feeder here in Ipswich - backing onto Christchurch Park. Coal tits, blue tits, great tits. Also dunnock, robins etc. Very nice to see before I head off in the gloomy morning light to work
Spadger is a nickname for sparrow's
Lots of starling's earlier on today, I countd 18-20 or so on the lawn & feeder's spadger's are doing well & the Bluetit came onto the peanut's.
