Hi all - I, too, am missing seeing the list of who's online at any one time. And they really need to sort out this thin font. Not good for anyone, let alone those with visual impairments. I bet it wouldn't pass Accessibility regulation testing!! I have just made my text bold to see if that helps!
I saw a flock of small birds in a stubble field at Dedham in Suffolk today - they all swirled around as we got closer. Sounded a bit like larks, and lark sized. Any clues? I realise that's not much to go on, but I've only seen larks singly before.

In addition to Alan's suggestion I'll also add Linnets to the mix. I have seen Skylarks in small numbers together but Linnet sounds a better bet based on your description. Goldfinch could also be a possibility.
Thanks, all. I've listened to audio clips of Linnets, yellow hammer and Meadow pipits - and I think the call was more like the latter.
