It's not easy getting used to this new layout but hang in there friends, it would be terrible if we lost contact through this community that has been built up over the years.
I'm not one to give up without a fight and hope somebody at HQ is reading and taking serious note of the issues we are experiencing and can update us on what can be adjusted within the layout of this new platform. If its nothing, ok, but please, please tell us so at least we are aware of it and can stop wasting our time and yours. Don't go silent on us as this Community is very important to us and I would have thought, also to the RSPB too.
Thanks Hazy, it was in september, & we had a lovely meal at home. However we're off to frineds a bit further north this week for another celebratory dinner. That's if the roads aren't blocked with protestors.
Congrats on your Ruby wedding anniversary Hazel, the steak looked delicious.
40th wedding anniversary meal Alan, once in a lifetime so deserved a photo & it was the first to come up in the file (& I know you like your food) LOL
I just re-did the survey using a link I'd posted in another thread but I think I got the survey I'd previously filled in as there were no specific questions about fonts and picture loading. Could you post a link to the new survey you did do you think please BSR?
BSR I've copied your post onto the Technical Test Thread, as it's very useful and we need more folk to do/repeat the survey especially if it's been modified, thanks!
To my mind, there doesn't seem to be anyone in house IT-wise enough (you can read that two ways lol) who sees these issues from our side of the fence and basically I feel the silent answer from them is pretty much "what you see is what you get" as I would have thought there should still be a two way dialogue continuing and any update progress or intention of changes. It currently feels de-javu. I agree totally Rob that there appears to be two different organisations running within RSPB, the ones as you say out on the reserve doing sterling work and whom I have the greatest, utmost respect for (a lot of them our good friends) and then there are those at the high table who don't discuss changes, even affecting their own staff/bloggers and consult with them beforehand (I am only assuming that was the case) We are probably no more to them at HQ than irritating mosquitos buzzing around their heads. They need an intermediate, preferably IT expert, to ensure the software runs as ucomplicated as it should. I feel somewhat sorry for JonB as he's the front man for this debacle and he must be in a very difficult position with the Techs in one ear saying one thing and us in the other.
I'm not sure it will work well for long in its current format even though we are trying to work this site the best ways we can, sharing tips on how best to overcome some of the problems; eventually it will become too time consuming for folk to put in so much of their own time when it doesn't have to be that way. This community forum site is way over complicated in its structure and doesn't need to be - a simple, non fancy format would suffice.
Yes Alan, I use it all time. What you have shown me is similar to what I did before, insert, pick photo, resize etc, but now this is the only options I get when I hit reply. Will try to copy it.
That never worked, what shows is.
Paragraph, option arrow for print, the option to set text left or centre, TV, the the last two that you have, I have no edit, format, insert ot tools!
I did the survey for the second time last night and it has changed a lot since my first submission. There are more specific questions asked, including one which asks about the fonts, one asking about picture loading etc so I would suggest that it is worthwhile everyone revisiting the survey. It would appear that they have listened to some of the gripes and included them in the survey to see how widespread that feeling is, but many had already filled in the initial survey. It would still be nice if they posted something more direct for us to read though - the usual lack of communication.
Are you on the IPad CL?
