Lovely blue skies here in Mitcham today. I should have gone to Croydon Reptiles to get more mealies, but I chose to stay home and enjoy the sunshine. Some of the local birds chose to do likewise.
This lone LTT spent about five minutes in the flowering currant. I did not see any other LTT's, so I found it rather odd that this single bird spent so long in one spot. As a group they usually pass through the garden like a swarm of locusts and are rarely there for more than a minute or two. These pics were taken through the kitchen window.
The sunshine had an effect on the Pigeon Mafia too

Is this a Common Gull?
Just for Hazel
I can see why you love your Pigeons MC, the colours are beautiful. Not sure "Which Hazel" but the squirrel is my favourite of all. Our LTT's just pass through on mass too, never stop & eat from the feeders. The second Gull is a Common Gull I would say.
Stunning photos Paul, it was a beautiful day today which brought the birds out. The LTT is gorgeous and the gull shots terrific. You have really shown the beautiful colours on the pigeons with those iridescent neck and chest patches. You better keep hold of the Cyril - he won't like our garden at the moment.
Thanks Hazels. The Cyril is a female and she's already on her way up the M6 to Cheshire. The Kits will be along in a few days!
Cracking shots, MC. The colours on the Pigeons are fantastic. I also agree with Hazel, a Common Gull for your second flyover.
Well, the sky wasn't as blue as that here! Fabulous set of photos and yes, the pigeons certainly seemed to be enjoying the sunshine. I also get LTTs en masse - they descend on the fat balls together for a few moments before moving on. It does seem quite unusual to see one on its own.
Excellent shots. Of course, I'd expect you to get the best out of the pigeons! Just occasionally I'll get a smaller group of 2 or 3 LTT's in the garden, instead of the usual dozen or so, but I don't think I've seen one alone.
The LTT are just beautiful, as are the colours in your mafia group. That Cyril sure looks like she is up to no good, what a cheeky looking face and pose!
Superb pics MC.
Those pigeons are as affectionate to each other as ours are here.
Lovely pics MC, and I agree it is odd to see a lone LTT but I wonder if it was feeding on the buds or maybe insects in your flowering currant bush.
Lovely photo's, had a lovely day in Essex.
