I'm starting a new thread as the old one is playing up. Here's a snap of the sea from Felixstowe Ferry to start it off:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Was it Halloween? nice shot Stuart.
cheers Terry

Oh no, that was dinner just hanging out to dry - mmmm :-) You can't see the wasps chewing holes in the octopus fortunately.
"Let loose the Kraken!"
Wow what an interesting shot, not sure I'll be ordering that meal though lol

Great photos Stuart, what kind of gannet type bird is that in your last photo of the first set of photos. Is it a brown booby? as I have seen similar type birds in the Caribbean but wasn't sure of the correct identification.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
I think this may be the same bird, what do you think?
wonderful photo Mary, does look like the same bird doesn't it ?
Yep, Brown Booby - and yours looks pretty similar indeed (mine was on the Pacific side) :-) Your sea is a nicer colour though!
Great Stuart, was never sure if it was a BB or not. These birds along with brown and white pelicans are always at Cane Garden Bay in Tortola, B.V.I.
Mary lovely blue sea and Brown Booby! Could do with some of that blue warm water right now! You can almost smell the waves!
Love the photo of the lunch hanging out to dry! Dont think Id like that though!
