Iv been drawing since I was 7 and I draw just about anything and drawing is one of my hobby’s. but I didnt draw birds until back when my interest in birds and wildlife started. Iv allways been a very good drawer but since I had never drawn birds before And it was now my main Imterest then, cause of that I wanted to learn how to draw them. My drawings of birds resembled birds and you could tell it was a bird but weren’t very good yet at least not as good as I wanted them to be and it can be frustrating when something doesn’t turn out how you imagined it but I knew if I didn’t keep practicing I will never be good at it and the drawing won’t look the way I imagine them. Due to a memorable and influential encounter with a buzzard that inspired me to study and start my hobby I mainly drew birds of Prey first since I was more interested in them than other birds at first and so I was much better at drawing them than other birds still didn’t come out exactly how I wanted them to but good enough after 2 years I got the hang of drawing birds of prey and became very good at it so I went on to other birds and they weren’t very good even though they still resembled birds but a over time I got better and better at it. after another 2 or 3 years I was very good at it by then and they came out how I wanted them to. One tip I would give is that drawing birds can be quiet simple first you draw the familiar shape of the species you want to draw then you add details afterwards.

Well described Zo

It takes a lot of patience to paint your subject to be as you want it to be. Birds do never remain still unless you take a photo, and you can paint what you have photographed on here.

Not easy and having a flair for it is a positive thing to have.

I wasn’t going to colour it in but I changed my mind. Sometimes I colour them in sometimes i dont. Offline some people like it when I colour my drawings while others think my drawings just as good not coloured in so it just depends on the person. I don’t know what the people here think though.

when I do colour unless I want to use my imagination and turn it into a different bird I usually prefer to stick to the same colours that my thing that iv drawn has and The subjects I draw are easy for me to remember so when I draw there isn’t usually any need to check what the real colours are of the subject I’m drawing. Blue Tit and Great Tit and Robin are easy ones to colour anyway though cause there so common. It’s not easy to forget the colourful blue tit, great Tit or the reddish orange breasted Robin

Not my best drawing of the Great Tit. The Great tit looks like he’s grown old  but at least you can tell it was a Great Tit.
